Phyllis Diller: Actress and comedian passes away at 95
Veteran actress Phyllis Diller has passed away today (Monday, August 20) in Los Angeles.
Diller's longtime manager Milton Suchin told The AP that Diller died "peacefully in her sleep with a smile on her face".
Recently, Diller had hurt her wrist and hip after a fall but her rep said the injury had nothing to do with her death, reports TMZ.
The manager also shared to The Hollywood Reporter: "The world has lost a true trailblazer, a gracious and kind woman, beloved by all."
The talented comedian appeared in several top comedy and variety programs in the '60s and '70s, including What's My Line?, Get Smart and The Carol Burnett Show.
Phyllis Diller made her movie debut in 1961 on Splendor in the Grass, starring Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood, and was famed for her stand-up comedy.
Recognizing her work in television, Diller was honored with the Women in Film Lucy Award in 2000.
