 Meryl Streep: Undergoes surgery after hand-chopping mishap
Multiple Oscar-winning star Meryl Streep recently underwent surgery on her left hand due to a kitchen mishap.
The much-loved artist, who played chef Julia Child in Julie & Julia, apparently chopped her hand while slicing avocado at her Connecticut home.
The star sought help from a local doctor, who performed a minor surgery to repair the wound.
"They gave me [a huge] bandage. And of course I took it right off when I got home. But now, I think I'll put it back on," Streep said on Sunday (August 5), reports Showbiz 411.
The 'Iron Lady' actress revealed the injury at a Q&A in New York City, which was also attended by her Hope Springs co-stars Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell.
