Britney Spears: Next record deal to be subject of bidding war
Pop syperstar Britney Spears's next record contract will reportedly see a bidding war between several labels.
The artist's current deal with Jive Records (now RCA) only has one album left, and will soon be taking offers from interested parties.
Britney's X Factor USA colleague LA Reid is said to be looking to sign her to his Epic Records label at Sony, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Barry Weiss, former head for Jive, who has worked with Spears in the past, is also interested in reuniting with her at Island Def Jam Motown and Universal Republic, who also have Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Mariah Carey among others.
LA Reid is said to have become good friends with Spears since she joined the upcoming second season of The X Factor USA, while Weiss believes that their own history will give him the edge in the battle for her signature.
"I have a 15-year history with Britney and would love to be reunited with her," Weiss said.
Spears' previous album was last year's Femme Fatale, with the singles 'Hold It Against Me' and 'Till the World Ends'.
Recently, Britney Spears said that, being on The X Factor USA with Reid, Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato has been "good" for her.
