 Freddie Mercury: Album 'Barcelona' to be re-released for 25th anniversary
UK-based Island Records has announced the 25th anniversary re-release of Freddie Mercury's 'Barcelona' album, recorded with operatic soprano Montserrat Caballé.
As a special edition 4-disc box set, the entirely newly-orchestrated re-working will be released.
'Barcelona- The Special Edition' will be released on September 3 to mark the 25th anniversary of the lead 'Barcelona' single.
It will also be available as a standard CD, vinyl and download.
The album re-release is followed by a brand new documentary produced and directed by Rhys Thomas titled The Great Pretender.
It features re-discovered interviews and previously-unseen footage, exploring Mercury's solo career and life away from Queen, and is released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 24.
