 Scott Weiland: Gets 8 days of imprisonment
Scott Weiland, the Stone Temple Pilots singer, was sentenced to imprisonment for eight days. The singing sensation, who is known for being involved in drug-related problems several times, has been alleged for the charge of driving under the influence of drug for a second time.
On Monday Scott Weiland has pleaded no contest to the charge .Due to his previous conviction for a similar offense in the year 2004 he has been sentenced to 8 days of imprisonment. In addition he is also being put on four-year probation and also being ordered to spend eighteen months in rehabilitation centre.
However Scott Weiland's lawyer also could not be reached for comment.
The singer was not present in court proceeding that was held on Monday. However he was ordered to be in court on May 28 for a ‘restitution hearing’. At that time he will be taken into custody so that he could serve his jail term. This bit of information has been confirmed by a source.
Last year in the month of November, forty year old Scott Weiland was nabbed after his car got crashed on a freeway of Los Angeles. Since he refused to take a sobriety test he was immediately arrested.
Earlier this month, Scott Weiland was discharged from the rock band called Velvet Revolver. In fact it has cited a complain about the singer's "increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems."
In his defense Scott Weiland said that his bandmates were "discontents" who has been in feud for some time. |
