'Sleeping Beauty': Neal Moritz's modern version of comedy in progress
Currently, a modern day retelling of Sleeping Beauty is being developed.
Neal Moritz is working on the comedy project, which would see the princess become a stalker, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The new story would see the princess accidentally awoken by the male protagonist, who is then constantly followed by the heroine.
Original Films' Amanda Lewis is also developing the project, which is being written by Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller. Corey May and Dooma Wenschuh of Sekretagent Productions are producing.
21 Jump Street producer is also known for his action films including the Fast and Furious franchise.
Actress Angelina Jolie is also starring in Disney's upcoming Maleficent, which follows the villain from 1959's Sleeping Beauty.
