Sofia Vergara: Named as television's highest-paid actress

TV star Sofia Vergara has been named the highest-paid actress in television.

The actress has topped this year's Forbes list of the best-paid actresses in TV thanks to several endorsement deals.

Sofia has been a spokeswoman for Diet Pepsi, Cover Girl and Kmart, as well as appearing in Spanish-language ads for Burger King, State Farm and Comcast.

Vergara managed to earn $19 million (£12.1m) between May 2011 and May 2012 with her role on the Emmy-nominated Modern Family and her management company Latin World Entertainment.

The 'Modern Family' star managed to beat out other television heavyweights including Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria, Bethenny Frankel and Tina Fey.
