Jennifer Lopez: 'It's time for me to leave American Idol'
Celebrated popstar Jennifer Lopez has revealed that she is strongly considering leaving 'American Idol'.
J Lo's future as an American Idol judge has come under much speculation in recent days, with one insider saying that she will make a final decision after her summer tour.
The latin performer stopped short of confirming that she is leaving the Fox show on Today on Thursday (July 12), but did admit that she has other priorities.
"The truth is... I've enjoyed it so much, but I am thinking it's maybe time for me to go and do other things I really love to do like films... and performing," Lopez told Today co-host Natalie Morales.
The 'On the Floor' singer also said: "It's a huge decision, but I have to say there are so many things I do that I put on hold for that. It's a heartbreaking decision if I have to go."
Further, Morales pressed by commenting that it sounds like Lopez is "making up [her] mind" to leave.
The American Idol judge added: "I'm torn - it's a tough decision."
Adam Lambert, former contestant of the show, has been linked to potentially joining the American Idol judging panel in recent days.
The talented star told web site Digital Spy earlier this week: "If I was asked to do it, I would be thrilled to."
Other stars like Miley Cyrus, Charlie Sheen and even Jerry Lewis have also been named as potential replacements for Lopez if she chooses to leave.
With open auditions currently underway across the US, American Idol returns to Fox in 2013.
