Anthony Hopkins: Joins cast of Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah'
Legendary star Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of Noah.
On Monday (July 9), director Darren Aronofsky tweeted the news, revealing that the 74-year-old will be playing Methuselah, the oldest person mentioned in the Hebrew Bible.
"I'm honored to be working with the great sir anthony hopkins. we just added him to the stellar cast of Noah. #methuselahlives (sic)," he wrote.
Oscar-winning star Russell Crowe will play the titular character in the movie, which will follow the biblical story about the building of an ark to save humanity from a divine flood.
Recently, Harry Potter actress Emma Watson signed on to star in the film. Following the announcement, Crowe tweeted: "My kids are flipping out that I'm going to work with Hermione."
While filming on Noah is expected to begin later this month for a March 28, 2014 release date in the US.
