Christian Bale: 'I felt, I should be recast as Batman'
The 38-year-old actor Christian Bale has said he believed the role of Batman should be recast while working on the first movie.
Bale revealed that he was so uncomfortable in the character's suit that he nearly left the first film Batman Begins.
"I felt like they should recast," Bale told Access Hollywood.
"I really did because it was so claustrophobic that I didn't feel like I could breathe," he continued. "I felt, 'They've made a mistake and I can't do this'."
Bale went on to say that he eventually learned to overcome his terror of the costume.
"I took some time and breathed deeply and asked to be left alone for 15, 20 minutes, and just sat with it and eventually got used to it," Bale said.
The Dark Knight Rises star recently insisted that director Christopher Nolan made Batman relevant again with his cerebral treatment of the story.
Film 'The Dark Knight Rises', which opens in cinemas on July 20, reportedly received a standing ovation at an early screening in Los Angeles last week.
