Pete Doherty: Checks in for rehab in Thailand
Singer-songwriter Pete Doherty has checked himself into rehab abroad.
The former Libertines frontman is said to have left the UK in order to beat his drug addiction in Thailand, his official website explained.
"Peter has left the building, well not quite, more the country, on his way to rehab in Thailand," a statement read.
"He left Heathrow last night and will have arrived in Thailand this morning. We wish him well. He has plans to continue working on his new songs for the album which is eagerly awaited."
For many years, Doherty has battled an addiction to heroin and crack cocaine.
In 2007, He spent six weeks in rehab in Clouds House in Salisbury, but relapsed shortly after leaving.
The artist was sentenced to six months of imprisonment for the possession of cocaine back in May 2011.
