John Travolta: Struck with lawsuit over sexuality claims by author

Actor John Travolta has been sued by an author who claims the actor attempted to discredit him after he made allegations about his sexuality.

Writer Robert Randolph claimed in his self-published 2010 book You'll Never Spa Again to have witnessed the Grease star engaging in homosexual acts at luxury retreats.

John Travolta and his lawyer Marty Singer called the accusations "blatant defamatory lies" and branded the brain-damaged Randolph a "patently unreliable source", statements that have prompted the writer to launch a legal challenge over loss of sales.

Although, the lawsuit has been described as "ridiculous" by Singer himself and "absurd" by a representative for Travolta.

"The suit is based on a privileged communication, and it will promptly be thrown out by the court," the spokesperson continued in a statement to Gossip Cop.

"To evaluate the credibility of Robert Randolph and his lawsuit one need look no further than his own statements published on his website stating that he sustained 'permanent brain damage' and had to 'retrain' his brain.

"Randolph also claimed on his website that after he was beaten and sustained brain damage at a spa, he allegedly returned to the same spa months later, and that the same assailant was there and supposedly attacked him for a second time."

Marty Singer has also claimed that he and Travolta intend to sue Randolph's attorneys for malicious prosecution "after the court promptly dismisses this baseless lawsuit".

Last month, two masseurs, who previously sued Travolta for sexual misconduct before dropping their cases, both hired famed lawyer Gloria Allred to represent them.

However, Travolta has strenuously denied those claims made against him.
