Katy Perry: Plans to start record label
Pop icon Katy Perry has revealed plans to start her own record label.
The stylish singer explained that she wants to give new artists the opportunity to launch careers without hindering their chances of becoming financially successful.
"I'm preparing for it now," Perry told The Hollywood Reporter about the as-yet-unnamed label.
"And when this record label does come to fruition, I'm going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success.
"As people are coming to me with opportunities, I'm thinking, 'How would I want to be treated?'"
Currently, Perry is preparing to release her first ever concert movie Part Of Me 3D on July 5, which she part-financed herself.
This film will be preceded by new single 'Wide Awake', which is the final cut to be released in the Teenage Dream era and will be available on July 2.
