George Clooney: To be guest of honor at charity event

Hollywood superstar George Clooney will be receiving charity tribute at Carousel of Hope event.

TV personality Jay Leno is to host a tribute to Clooney on October 20 at the Beverly Hilton, where the actor will be given the Brass Ring award for his charity work.

Others like Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds and Aretha Franklin have been lined up to perform during the Carousel of Hope Gala.

For the event, David Foster will serve as musical director.

Sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, the 2012 Carousel of Hope dinner is being held to raise money for the Center for Childhood Diabetes.

It was reported earlier on June 7 that, Clooney will direct the upcoming historical drama The Yankee Comandante.
