 Sharon Stone: 'Got death threats' over charity work
Stunning and unforgettable Sharon Stone has revealed that she faced death threats when she began her charity work.
Stone claimed that people accused her of seeking publicity when she began raising money and volunteering.
"When I started doing charity work, people thought I was only doing it for press," Stone told Life & Style. "They called me the new Zsa Zsa Gabor.
"The adversity was awful. My life was threatened - someone wanted to kill me. It was serious. I know what it's like to be bullied, but charity work is meaningful to me, so I didn't give up."
The 'Basic Instinct' star described the incidents as a "hard time" in her life, adding: "I had to be careful. People wanted to hurt me."
Although, the actress added that she is pleased when she sees the money she has raised being "put to good use", describing her public profile as a "gift" which has "created so much good".
In the recent past, Stone broke down in tears while talking about meeting a child who was suffering from AIDS.
