Geri Halliwell: Confirmed as guest judge for 'The X Factor'
Former 'Spice Girl' Geri Halliwell has been confirmed as a guest judge at The X Factor UK's first round of filmed auditions in Liverpool.
The 'Look At Me' star will sit alongside Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos at try-outs in the city tomorrow (May 23).
"I'm incredibly excited and proud to join The X Factor in Liverpool and have the opportunity to find a new star," Halliwell said. "Those four seats [on the panel] are the hottest seats in Britain right now.
"I hope to share all my experience and the ups and the downs of how to make it globally in the music industry with the contestants and I'm really looking forward to having a blast with Gary, Tulisa and the lovely Louis."
The artist was first linked to the role yesterday (May 21) and has also been touted as a permanent replacement for departed judge Kelly Rowland.
After Dannii Minogue reportedly rejected a £1m offer to return to the show, guest judges are being recruited for the X Factor auditions.
Previously, Halliwell covered for Minogue on The X Factor while the Australian singer was on maternity leave during her final series in 2010.
The former 'Spice Girls' singer also appeared as a judge alongside Walsh on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, which discovered former X Factor panelist Cheryl Cole and the rest of Girls Aloud.
Earlier on May 22, Olly Murs and Caroline Flack were confirmed as hosts of The Xtra Factor, while Dermot O'Leary is also coming back to present the main show.
