Hugh Jackman: 'Sequel to 'The Wolverine' to shoot in August'
Star Hugh Jackman has confirmed the start of filming on 20th Century Fox's Marvel Comics sequel 'The Wolverine', in August, 18 months after initially planned.
The star offered an update on the movie after being asked about it by his Twitter followers.
The Wolverine was hit by multiple setbacks in March 2011 following the earthquake in Japan and the departure of director Darren Aronofsky.
Filming was further delayed by Jackman's shooting commitments for Les Misérables.
This new film will be based on Chris Claremont and Frank Miller's 1982 miniseries Wolverine, which saw Logan fighting ninjas and the Silver Samurai in a showdown with his former lover-turned-crime lord.
Set work will be filmed at Fox Studios Australia, with shooting on location in Japan.
James Mangold will direct from a screenplay which was written by Christopher McQuarrie and polished by Mark Bomback.
The sequel is scheduled for release on July 26, 2013.
