Usher: Brings charges against ex-wife of attacking him, spitting at girlfriend
Singer Usher has testified in court against his ex-wife Tameka Foster, accusing her of throwing food at him and spitting on his girlfriend during a tirade.
The performer is currently embroiled in a heated custody battle with former wife Tameka Foster, with whom he has two sons.
Foster is fighting for full custody of the children, while Usher is pursuing increased visitation rights.
TMZ reports that in a court testimony on Monday (May 21), Usher stated that Foster attacked him when he arrived with his new girlfriend at the couple's former home in Atlanta.
The 33-year-old singer told the court: "She wanted to fight... [She said], 'I'm gonna kick your ass. Bitch get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision in my house?'
"She continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at [my girlfriend]."
The singer went on to claim that he was forced to exit the car and block Foster, who then allegedly hit him repeatedly as he attempted to calm her.
The artist added that as he and his girlfriend drove away from the premises, "she threw a plate of food at the car".
The testimony from the court comes just a day after Usher performed his latest single at this year's Billboard Music Awards.
