Catherine Zeta-Jones: Joins star-cast of 'Red 2'

Oscar-winning star Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined the cast of RED 2.

Soon to be seen in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Byung-Hun Lee will also appear in a currently unspecified role.

RED was based on the three-issue DC Comics miniseries by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner and focused on a group of former CIA operatives who are classified as "retired [and] extremely dangerous".

Its sequel will reunite a number of cast members from the first movie, namely Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich.

Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) will direct, with the script once again written by Erich and Jon Hoeber.

Otherwise, it has also been confirmed that Lionsgate will sell the movie at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

This new movie RED 2 will be released on August 2, 2013, while Zeta-Jones will next be seen in Adam Shankman's big-screen adaptation of Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and Julianne Hough.
