Whitney Houston: Life and career to be celebrated on VH1's 'Divas'
The legend Whitney Houston's life and career will be honored and celebrated during the next episode of 'VH1 Divas'.
(Check out below, Whitney Houston and Mary J Blige perform 'Ain't No Way' live on VH1 Divas in 1999.)
This popular show, which sees some of the world's biggest female performers collaborate, will pay homage to the late superstar when the program is filmed later this year.
The highly-acclaimed artist's long-time musical director Rickey Minor has been booked as executive producer for the special, which will take place in Los Angeles in December, reports Billboard.
"We all felt that if any show could pay tribute to Whitney's music, it would be Divas," VH1 president Tom Calderone said. "December felt like enough time where it wouldn't be sad anymore, you'd want to celebrate her music."
The icon of music appeared on VH1 Divas three times during her career, in 1999, 2002 and 2003.
However, the performers for the Whitney Houston tribute installment have yet to be confirmed.
