Winner of 'American Idol' of 2004, Fantasia Barrino, the celebrated singer, has another feat that has enhanced her glory. Fantasia Barrino becomes grand marshal of ‘Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival’ of 2008. This six-day long festival that is held annually in Winchester, Virginia, is noted for the participation of numerous celebrities and also for its gala events.
Barrino’s musical career has started rolling after winning the prestigious American Idol title in the year 2004. After that she has brought out "Free Yourself,” her first CD which earned total revenue of over two million copies through out the world.
The 23-year-old Fantasia Barrino has seen ups and downs in her life. After dropping out from school she pursued her musical career which has landed her in getting nominations for four times.
Apart from singing, Fantasia Barrino also won heart and applause of audiences as an actress. In fact in the month of April 2007, Fantasia made her début on ‘Broadway’. She has played the lead role of Celie in the musical version of "The Color Purple." The Color Purple will be remade as a film. There also she will appear as a cast. |
