Mel Gibson: Recorded tape released by screenwriter Joe Eszterhas
Recently, a recording of Mel Gibson reportedly engaging in an anti-Semitic outburst has been released by screenwriter Joe Eszterhas.
Previously, Eszterhas had been working with Gibson on The Maccabees, a movie about the Jewish revolt, but the project has since been put on hold. Last week, Eszterhas released a nine-page letter in which he openly accused Gibson of spewing anti-Jewish slurs and of using him to defuse allegations of anti-Semitism, claims which Gibson called 'utter fabrication'.
Although, Eszterhas has since released a tape which confirms his claims and features Gibson using profane language as he lashes out at Eszterhas and his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva in a violent rampage.
Obtained by The Wrap, this recording portrays Gibson becoming angry when Eszterhas fails to deliver a first draft of the Maccabees script and begins screaming.
"I go to work, you're getting paid, I'm not! S**t! I am earning money for a filthy little c**ksucker who takes advantage of me!" Gibson says, presumably referring to Grigorieva.
"Just like every motherf**ker! So hurry the f**k up! F**k! God!... F**kng c**t c**ksucker wh*re!"
The screenwriter has defended his decision to release the tape, which was recorded by his son Nick, insisting that he has Gibson's best interest at heart.
"The bottom line is it shows to me he badly needs help. My interest isn't to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others, starting with Jews, including Oksana and now, I'm sure, me," he explained.
"I strongly believe that unless he seeks and receives some kind of psychiatric help, someone is going to get hurt."
The upset screenwriter added that, his son Nick "was adamant I release this tape".
"'I know how frightened we all were. No one has the right to treat another human being that way. This tape shows him the way he really is," he added.
