Titanic 3D: Nude scene scissored in China to prevent viewers 'touching' Kate Winslet
Because of fears viewers may try to "touch" Kate Winslet, the Chinese movie classification board has censored the painting scene from 'Titanic 3D'.
The famous scene where Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) paints Rose (Winslet) naked has been cut by the China State of Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) to only show her from the neck up.
An official for the SARFT told Offbeat China: "Considering the vivid 3D effects, we fear that viewers may reach out their hands for a touch and thus interrupt other people's viewing.
"To avoid potential conflicts between viewers and out of consideration of building a harmonious ethical social environment, we've decided to cut off the nudity scenes."
One Chinese blogger posted: "I've been waiting almost 15 years, and not for the 3D icebergs," according to MovieFlix.
Directed by James Cameron, Titanic was re-released in 3D to coincide with the 100-year anniversary of the ship's voyage and sinking.
