Hugh Jackman: Buys lottery scratchcards for £250 to Les Miserables crew
Australian star Hugh Jackman has reportedly treated every crew member on the Les Miserables set.
The actor, who plays hero Jean Valjean in the upcoming Tom Hooper adaptation, is said to have spent £250 on lottery scratchcards while filming was delayed by rain.
"Hugh said he needed to go to the shops then came back with a wad of scratchcards and handed them out to everyone," a source told The Sun.
"It's a nice gesture. No-one won, however – or if they did they're not saying."
Recently, Jackman revealed that he did the same while filming Real Steel last year, buying 500 crew members lottery tickets.
At the time, he explained: "It's my way of paying taxes. The very first film I did in America, I was embarrassed to say two months in that I didn't know half of the crew's names.
"So I thought that on a Friday afternoon I'll whip by and buy lottery tickets for everyone and hand them out. I say it's an Australian tradition, but it's not."
Other cast members for the musical adaptation include Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Recently, Samantha Barks replaced Taylor Swift in the film as Eponine.
Film 'Les Miserables' will be released to cinemas on December 14.
