Ricky Martin, Boy George: Tweet out loud in protest of tragic gay attack in Chile
Sinmgers Ricky Martin and Boy George have spoken out to condemn a recent hate crime- the attack of a gay man in Chile.
Currently, the victimized man named Daniel Zamudio is in a medically induced coma, after being severely beaten in a Santiago park earlier this month. Zamudio suffered a broken leg and severe head trauma due to the attack.
Via Twitter, both Martin and Boy George have voiced their support of Zamudio.
Martin, who publicly came out in 2010, posted a message to his fans saying: "No more hatred, no more discrimination. I hope that justice is done NOW. Lots of light to Daniel and his whole family."
Talented singer Boy George also voiced his disbelief about the attack, sharing an article about Zamudio on his Twitter and saying: "This is awful!! Chile come on!! Prayers for Daniel!"
However, this is not the first time either singer has spoken out in advocacy for gay rights. Martin was honoured in 2011 at the GLAAD awards for his contributions to the LGBT community.
