 Serena Williams: Joins comedy-drama series Drop Dead Diva
Superstar of Tennis Serena Williams has been cast in Lifetime's comedy-drama series Drop Dead Diva.
Williams will play family lawyer Kelly Stevens representing Elisa Shayne (Brandy) in a custody battle against ex-boyfriend Jay Parker (Josh Stamberg) in the upcoming fourth season, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The show's creator and executive producer Josh Berman revealed: "I had heard that Serena was a fan of the show, so I reached out to her directly.
"The writers developed this part specifically for her. I can't wait to watch Serena serve it up on our set."
Williams will join previously announced star Kim Kardashian as a new cast member in the fourth season.
Last year, the tennis star was said to be in the studio working on rap tracks with hip-hop producer DJ Clue.
