Katy Perry: Defends jibe on Beyonce, Shakira, advises media to "get a life"
Pop singer Katy Perry has defended her jibe at Beyoncé and Shakira and told the media to "get a life".
The star inadvertently criticized Beyoncé and Shakira earlier this week while visiting the Radio 1 Live Lounge in support of her new single 'Part of Me'.
While speaking about a potential collaboration with Rihanna, Perry explained that she didn't want to rush the project as she wanted it to be iconic, unlike Beyoncé and Shakira's hit 'Beautiful Liar'.
Perry said: "I was telling her, you know the Eurythmics song featuring Aretha Franklin, 'Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves'? That's like the kind of song which I'd like to do, rather than 'Beautiful Liar'.
"Although that is still a great song... I loved that but I definitely want to do something which is iconic."
