Monday 5, March 2012
Much-popular singer Mariah Carey has returned to the stage for the first time since her pregnancy.
Carey, who welcomed twins in April, played live at New York's Gotham Hall last night (Thursday).
The performer's 40-minute set, which included renditions of 'Always Be My Baby', 'We Belong Together' and 'Obsessed', was met by a hugely positive reaction.
The 41-year-old gave a shout-out to husband Nick Cannon between performances, who was among the crowd at Caesar Entertainment's 'Escape To Total Rewards' launch.
Billboard quotes her as saying: "Do I bring dem babies out?... They should be in bed!
"I really wanted to bring them here tonight, but Monroe is sometimes shy and takes a while to warm up to an audience."
The Gotham Hall gig also featured performances from Lil Wayne, Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles among others.
The R&B singer's comeback performance was previously thought to be taking place this Saturday (March 3) live on Jimmy Kimmel.
Carey had originally planned to return to the stage in May at Morocco's Mawazine Festival.
