 Vanilla Ice: Arrested for domestic battery
Rapper Vanilla Ice has been arrested in South Florida on Thursday night. According to a report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, he has been charged with domestic battery.
According to Lt. Tim Temperato, Vanilla Ice is currently in police custody. He will be presented in court on Friday.
It was not immediately known whether Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle had an attorney or not. A message left with his agent was not immediately returned early Friday morning.
Lt. Tim Temperato said that on Friday, a judge will determine if there was probable cause for the arrest. No further details of the arrest are available.
If the judge decides the arrest was justified, Van Winkle would either be given a bond, or be released on his own recognizance.
Vanilla Ice had sold 15 million copies of the single "Ice, Ice Baby" in 1990 and had won an American Music Award. He had been chosen by People magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world in 1991. He had also spent a night in jail in 2001 after a domestic dispute. |
