'Paranormal Activity': Release of fourth sequel confirmed
Film and television production/distribution company Paramount has confirmed the release of 'Paranormal Activity 4' in 2012.
A statement has been released by the movie studio, detailing its yearly totals for 2011, as well as its current productions to be put out this year.
As an upcoming project, a fourth instalment of the horror franchise, which previously had only been hinted at by executives, is listed in this statement.
"In 2012, Paramount's release slate highlights include World War Z, a zombie thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the next instalment in the global franchise starring Dwayne Johnson and Channing Tatum, a new chapter in the Paranormal Activity franchise, and The Dictator, starring Sacha Baron Cohen and directed by Larry Charles, the team behind Borat", read the press release.
It has also been announced by Paramount that, it beat all other movie studios for the year in terms of worldwide box office, taking in $5.17 billion.
In October, during its opening weekend, 'Paranormal Activity 3' took in a huge $54 million.
