James Franco: Sells first ever novel
Actor James Franco has sold his first novel.
Last year's Oscar host has penned a fiction book loosely based on his Hollywood life, reports The New York Observer.
The novel by Franco, entitled Actors Anonymous, will be published exclusively via online retailer Amazon, whose fiction editor Ed Park acquired the project. Richard Abate of 3 Arts, Franco's literary agent, brokered the deal.
In September 2010, Franco released a collection of short stories entitled 'Palo Alto', which was published by Scribner.
Socialite and TV presenter Peaches Geldof criticised the actor's efforts, saying that his work borrowed too heavily from renowned short story writer and novelist Raymond Carver.
The 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' actor announced plans in November to shoot and direct a fashion campaign for Seven For All Mankind.
In the upcoming film 'Lovelace', James will make a cameo as Hugh Hefner.
