Amy Winehouse: Lady GaGa biopic reports denied by father Mitch Winehouse
Late singer Amy Winehouse's father Mitch Winehouse has responded to reports that Lady GaGa will portray his daughter in a biopic.
Mitch allegedly gave his approval over the weekend, for the 'Judas' singer to play Amy if a biopic should happen. However, Mitch took to his Twitter to clear up the reports.
Amy's father wrote: "I never said Lady Gaga will play Amy in film. Also Amy's room not a shrine. Wot a load of rubbish. Mitch (sic)."
Mitch's spokesperson also told Entertainment Weekly that the family are open to the idea of a biopic about Amy but only ones they know "would tell the truth".
Recently, Amy's director boyfriend Reg Traviss revealed that he turned down offers to direct a film of her life.
Reg informed: "I guess a biopic is inevitable. I have been asked but I honestly don't think I could do it. I'd be too close to it.
"But whoever does write and direct the film may exaggerate certain points to make it more 'Hollywood'. The family would want to be involved to make sure that it's done justice. But right now it's all too raw."
