www.eonline.com - : Even if you're a dude who's seen Episode III four times already, you'll have a good time hanging with this Sisterhood. The extremely well done adaptation of the popular novel features one pair of pants that sure gets around: four teen girls share 'em while they head their separate ways for the summer. Magic happens, and they don't even make your ass look fat! The dungarees help Joan of Arcadia's Amber Tamblyn get some perspective on life. Gilmore Girls' Alexis Bledel heads off to Greece and falls for her first boyfriend. Soccer champ Blake Lively processes her mother's suicide (sometimes in bad ways). And America Ferrera (Real Women Have Curves) struggles with fitting into her remarried dad's new life. All four stories are heartfelt, and this cast of able and awfully likable girls can work the comedy and coming-of-age drama without going sappy. Call this the perfect fit. more...

Here's the biggest shocker, though: The movie version of ''Sisterhood'' is otherwise sweet, wise, warm, and remarkably true to Brashares's characters and values. Men need not apply -- actually, teenage boys will probably gnaw their arms off to get away -- and the movie's much too mainstream to appeal to the art house crowd, but these are, by and large, good points. As female-bonding comfort food goes, ''Sisterhood'' is that rare meal both adolescent girls and their mothers will be able to agree on. more...
