www.eonline.com - : No, this isn't Tim Burton's Apes sequel. The Simian Line is a palm-reading term--and an amazingly bad title for a movie about three couples, two ghosts and a cuckoo psychic (Tyne Daly) who predicts one of the group will be splitsville by New Years Eve. Harry Connick Jr. and Lynn Redgrave have May-December issues; Monica Keena and Dylan Bruno have punk-rock immaturity issues; and ghosts William Hurt and Samantha Mathis have boundary issues--they just keep walking through walls and getting into everybody's business. Even with not so graceful story shifts, the ensemble keeps it real as things get wacky-supernatural. Redgrave carries the show with power and vulnerability; Connick shows his usual perfect comic timing; and Crawford turns in her first decent acting job since...ever. See it now or wait for cable? It's a fine Line.  more...  C+
