Saturday Night Live-based films have gotten progressively worse since the days of Wayne's World, and there's no stopping the free fall with The Ladies Man. In this below-average skit that never should have been made into a movie, Tim Meadows plays sex-crazed radio host Leon Phelps, who's looking for easy lovin' and a free ride from a rich, sweet thang. Often thwarted by angry husbands, the swinger faces a real challenge when true love rears its complicated, ''no threesome policy'' head. But it's all so limp--with weak wang jokes, bad clothes, a strange Julianne Moore cameo and a painful Will Ferrell performance--that no amount of sweet nookie can make up for its many misfires. more...
