  Critic Reviews  Grade
USA Today - Claudia Puig : One senses that the good doctor would be pleased with this cinematic treatment of his beloved 1954 book.   more...   A-
Seattle Post-Intelligencer - Travis Nichols : A loving and attentive take on a charming classic.   more...   B+
ReelViews - James Berardinelli : Has its own charm and is enjoyable in a family-friendly sort of way, even if it feels a little like Dr. Seuss by way of 'Ice Age.'   more...   B
New York Times - A.O. Scott : There are aspects of 'Horton' that are fresh and enjoyable, and bits that will gratify even a dogmatic and orthodox Seussian.   more...   C+
New York Post - Lou Lumenick : Frequently charming, beautifully drawn and far more faithful in spirit to the source material than those dreadful Ron Howard-Brian Grazer productions.   more...   B
Los Angeles Times - Carina Chocano : The movie retains much of the gentleness and sincerity of the book, if only at intermittent intervals. The rest of the time, it tries too hard to act cool around the other animated movies.   more...   C-
Hollywood Reporter - Kirk Honeycutt : A delight, brimming with colorful, elastic characters and bountiful wit.   more...   A
Filmcritic.com - Sean O'Connell : One will find strong messages of tolerance. ... For those unwilling to participate in multiplex psychology, Horton also works as an entertaining visual treat.   more...   B
Entertainment Weekly - Lisa Schwarzbaum : True to the Seuss vision, with a contemporary integrity that makes full use of CG power without sacrificing the delicacy of the author's springy, zingy illustrations.   more...   A-
E! Online - Glenn Gaslin : It works. As a kid flick, as a legitimate comedy, as a worthy extrapolation from the original book.   more...   A-
Chicago Tribune - Michael Phillips : Graced with some rich voice talent led by a sweetly restrained Jim Carrey, the film is far less grating than the big-budget versions of 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and 'The Cat in the Hat' .   more...   B-
Chicago Sun-Times - Laura Emerick : If you're willing to ignore the Hollywood gloss and enjoy the cinematic experience, you'll find a 'Horton' that's faithful, if not 100 percent, to the spirit of the beloved children's classic.   more...   B
Boston Globe - Ty Burr : A fresh, and mostly refreshing, approach in Hollywood's pillaging of the good doctor's oeuvre.   more...   B-

It is fantastically made. The amazing part of this movie is that there is total absence of usage of obscene language and foul jokes . It can make people laugh without the resort of being vulgar.

Although I went to the theater with the hope of viewing a wonderful movie I was utterly disappointed. This movie has been adapted from a book but its attempt of being deviated from its characterizations and plot developments proves to be a failure.

Absolutely an entertainment movie. In fact it would not be an exaggeration if one regards it as one of the finest animated movie of the year. One hardly gets chance to get bored.
