The film is a real horror movie. I mean that it hits on all cylinders that a monster movie should. The acting is simply phenomenal. The special effects are quite effective as well.
I am a long time reader and fan of Steven King. I read The Mist almost 20 years ago and it is still one of the most terrifying stories I have ever read. There were some modification made to the ending of the story, but I think Darabont gave it a fair treatment. The ending of the novel was disturbing; the ending of the film was heart wrenching.
This was my all-time favorite King story. The movie really holds true to the novel. The most important part of the story is the ending. And this one is very good. This one is perfect.
This is so far the most thought provoking and entertaining movie in 2007. The film is great all the way through very suspenseful event and you will eagerly wait to know what is going to be happened next.
Overall the movie is very effective and will have you thinking about it after you leave the theater. It's not as good as other horror movie like The Exorcist or Halloween, but it comes close to those.
Totally disaster. Acting wasn't good. Even serious emotional scenes seemed funny. Sound effect was dreadful. I never expected a movie like this from Frank Darabont.
Darabont has added some elements not found in the King story, but each one of them is spot on. Especially the end. The feeling of dread I got each time a character went into The Mist is such a tribute to how wonderful and masterful this film is.
This was a great thriller. It has great story. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. This movie seemed to have it all, suspense, gore, humor and drama.
