And only men could have written all the glowing reviews of The Apartment that I've found both online and off (one notable exception is at Nick Davis's Movie Archive -- he finds the movie as distasteful as I do). Two guys, both in love with the same girl. Of course, movies like this depend on the girl being special. Is she's ordinary or even boring, the movie falls flat on it's face and the audience doesn't really care. The Apartment goes above and beyond by not only giving us an interesting girl but also two interesting and drastically different men. more...
