www.movieline.com - : Proof that the New Hollywood can not only make Bad Movies We Love like they did in the old days, they can make 'em even worse, Satisfaction is a brainless reworking of 1960's Where the Boys Are, the one about four starlets who vacation at a popular resort. This time around, the setting remains the same, but the quartet of lasses has been ''updated'' into a rock and roll band which is described this: ''The lead guitar's a junkie, the drummer's a gangster, and the bass--on good days--is a slut.'' What about the lead singer, you ask? Well, she's class valedictorian Justine Bateman, and the laughs start at her high school graduation. ''We can make the kind of noise that's going to wake the world from its stagnant slumber,'' lectures Bateman, ''or we can bloat ourselves like those who have gone before us on the synthetic pap sucked from the techno tit of those who will lead us to the tyrannical bullshit our apathetic asses sometimes deserve.'' While the entire class is giving her--no! yes!--a standing ovation, you'll probably be recalling those words of wisdom handed down through the ages: People who star in ''synthetic pap'' shouldn't thrown stones. more...
