Overwiew :CRITICAL CONDITION mixes outrageous comedy with a big dose of suspense as it chronicles mistaken identities in the chaotic aftermath of a citywide power failure. Eddie (Richard Pryor) is a convicted criminal who faked insanity to avoid going to prison and now resides in a New York psychiatric ward. When a hurricane wind disrupts the hospital's power, Eddie hopes to escape by disguising himself as a doctor--only to be pressed into service as the blackout's primary physician, with predictably zany results.
