www.eonline.com - : Director Jonathan Frakes is known for going warp speed as Commander Riker in Star Trek. But he slows the pace--and enjoyment--considerably here. Actually, he stops it all together when high schooler Jesse Bradford finds a watch that freezes time. Working with a sci-fi plot crammed in between some squeaky-clean Nickelodeon fun, Bradford tries to impress the new exchange student Paula Garcés, helps his best bud win a deejay contest and plays a few pranks on the town bullies, all while trumping the bad dudes who are after the mini time machine. Suckers for anything sci-fi (and some Nick devotees) may find the flick lazily interesting (and will actually get the one Star Trek joke). However, most will be staring at their own watch, wondering how to get the last 92 minutes of their life back. more...
