www.eonline.com - : Drew Barrymore is pregnant. No, this is not the latest rumor started by her hubby Tom Green. Her current condition is for her latest project, the true-life story of Beverly Donofrio, a smartie-pants cop's daughter from Connecticut who falls in with the wrong crowd, gets knocked up and married at 15, watches her college dreams go down the toilet and then spends the rest of her life (as well as her reluctant son's) getting over it. Director Penny Marshall's heartwarming but uneven take on this well-worn book glosses over the sore subjects--drug abuse, deadbeat dads, diaper rash--and goes for levity that usually works. Through the very lengthy story, Barrymore and troublesome hubby Steve Zahn stumble a few times, too, but manage to be convincing by the conclusion. Helping out is Don't Say a Word psycho Brittany Murphy, who does a bang-up job as Barrymore's best friend. But be warned: This one's clearly for the girls...boys will want to ride elsewhere. more...
