www.boxoffice.com - : Matthew Modine is quite funny as the eager producer who sees his dream project steadily deteriorate into a nightmare production of catastrophic proportions thanks to more than a little bit of Hollywood meddling. Jennifer Tilly mostly plays herself and the late Alan Bates plays a hyperactive variation on himself in a cast that also includes Canadians Alan Thicke and Deborah Kara Unger. The only problem here is that the film's plot is tied so specifically to the peculiarities of Canada's infamous tax shelter era, that one needs a certain background in the period to really appreciate much of the humor.
