Her coming-of-rage tale lightens up when she meets stiff 49-year-old suit-store owner Albert Brooks, who hires, and more importantly, befriends her. When not answering questions about their friendship from creeped-out bystanders, the two trade secrets, try new things and stop acting their respective ages long enough to experience life's little moments. Sobieski reaches for that dramatic depth we all knew she had in her--especially toward the tearjerking end--while Brooks' comedic side is intact as a lovable grump.
