www.eonline.com - : Hmmm...that's odd. As we're suffering through this dusty cowboy downer, it feels like we're in Hell. Financed, directed by and starring country-crooner Dwight Yoakam (along with a bunch of his big-name friends) the film's rough, tedious dialogue, stony acting and a more-dumb-than-dark plot send this sucker out to pasture quicker than you can say ''Howdy.'' If you must know, Yoakam's a U.S. Marshal in early-1900s Arizona who battles his outlaw family members and embarks on a journey to save his love, Bridget Fonda. Sounds like big, epic, romantic stuff, eh? Sorry pardner. No one in what should be a fine cast wears his/her part well. And when folks aren't getting hog-tied in their ''y'all'' lines, they're dragging their boots through the two-hour-plus running time. We suggest you head anywhere but here. more...
