This has the kind of intense ménage à trois that we're used to from Bergman and Trauffaut (here the participants are Cage, Reinhold and Anderson). Trouble is, this is only European-style in the sense that certain kinds of oven chips claim to be Southern-style. The three stars struggle gamely - and with ludicrous seriousness - to try to make something of Kornhauser's clumsy, self-involved dialogue, which strains for profundity in every syllable. His buddy (Judge Reinhold) suspects nothing as Cage and his woman do everything from screw in the kitchen between courses of a meal, paint each other’s nude bodies and rub oil into each other’s butts.
