www.channel4.com - : Bland Rydell adaptation of a Faulkner novel, The Reivers has young boy Vogel learning a thing or two about life when he is accompanied by one of his parents' hired hands (McQueen) and stablehand Crosse for a trip to Memphis in the family's new car. Their journey enlightens each of them in different ways. Beautifully photographed but with observations which fail to add up to much, The Reivers is dramatically unconvincing.
