Celebration of Rath Yatra is not restricted
to the continent of India only. People of foreign countries like US, UK and
various foreign countries avidly take part in feting Rath Yatra.
On July 9, 1967 Rath Yatra or The Festival
of Chariots was performed for the first time in San Francisco. Such noble initiative
was undertaken by Swami Prabhupada. It is needless to mention that he has laid
the foundation of the famous organization namely International Society for Krishna
Consciousness (ISKCON).
In Liverpool, U.K, Rath Yatra festival
was initiated by Govardhan Das, the spiritual leader almost ten years ago. This
was done with the purpose of enlightening the entire south- western world about
the Krishna movement.
