Father's
Day gift ideas

Oh,
that special day in June when Dad gets to do whatever he wants! Father's
Day! Every year, we set aside the third Sunday in June to tell that really special
guy, "Thanks for being an awesome dad!" Short on cash? ...there are
sooooo many things you can do, which don't cost a lot of money! Don't sweat
it, dads love getting gifts that are from your heart. So here's a vivid discussion
and lotsssssa suggestions of special gifts and gift ideas for a special person
called DAD!
For most of us, shopping for the perfect Father’s Day Gift can be a difficult,
if not impossible task. Father’s Day initiates the annual conundrum of
what to buy the man who already has everything he needs. Finding the perfect
Father’s Day gift requires a little bit of effort and maybe a little bit
of homework, but the smile on Dad’s face when he opens the perfect gift
is truly priceless. The perfect gift requires “reverse engineering”.
In the gift business this means starting with the recipients’ tastes,
preferences and hobbies and working backwards towards the perfect gift. Instead
of finding the perfect gift and then trying to match it to the recipient, we
start with the recipient and work in reverse. Understanding this simple principal
will instantaneously make you a better gift buyer for any occasion.

The
difference between a “good gift” and the “perfect gift”
is determined by how accurately you can pinpoint Dad’s tastes, preferences
and hobbies and then work backwards towards a gift that best fits him. There
really is no such thing as a bad gift. All gifts are good at heart; but there
is a severe epidemic of giving Dad the wrong gift. And giving the wrong gift
is exactly how a gift goes bad! A good gift is something that Dad sincerely
appreciates. The perfect gift will stand out in his mind for years! Finding
the perfect Father’s Day Gift might require you to talk to people around
your Dad. Inquire about any new hobbies or interests he has been pursuing and
be sure to ask about things he’s thought about, but hasn’t yet pursued.

Whatever
you decide to get Dad this year just follow our simple rules and your gift will
be a guaranteed success :
Wrap
the Father's Day Gift properly :
Whether it is a power tool or a piece of fine jewelry,
the perfect gift must be properly gift-wrapped. In fact, a “good gift”
transformed into a “perfect gift” with the proper presentation.
(The bag you get from the cashier does not count as gift-wrapping!) Personalized
gift baskets for Father’s Day are often a great choice because they are
based on the recipient’s preferences, and are impeccably packaged.
Stick to Quality over Quantity for the
Father's
Day Gift : The
perfect gift doesn’t have to be expensive, but it must fall within his
realm of interests and it should be of good quality. Successful gift givers
always stick to the principal of “less is more.” Get him what he
would want even it means giving him less of it! For example, a chocolate lover
might politely accept a large box of chocolates from a grocery store, but one
perfectly crafted with gourmet chocolate would have a greater effect at a potentially
equal cost.
For a good Father's
Day Gift,
It’s The Thought That Counts :
When you take the extra time to “reverse engineer”
the perfect gift, it clearly demonstrates to Dad that you put time, effort and
energy into your selection. It shows him that you really thought about him,
which is ultimately the true essence of gift giving.

How
many ways does dad help us everyday? Whether relaxing by the TV, mowing the
lawn or driving the kids to games, practice or school. It's Dad. Like them or
not, neckties are the Father's Day gift. Americans spend more than $1 billion
each year to buy a staggering 100 million ties. That's roughly one tie for every
male over the age of 20 in the United States . Former president Clinton liked
his colorful, while Regis Philbin wants his to match his shirt. The Duke of
Windsor had a vast collection, but Col. Sanders always wears the same black
one. Each year, approximately one hundred millions of Father's Day neckties
are purchased, along with endless father's day greeting cards, power tools,
sports shirts, golf balls, and other "male" attire and accessories.
But, we would not keep a few age old, but immortal, gifts like neckties or,
wallets or, belts or, razors or, socks in our discussion, because they are the
first things that would come to your mind, once you sit to decide for your Father's
Day Gifts. We would rather encompass more innovative and exciting topics.
3 Easy
Steps
To
Great Gift
Ideas for Dad

Give
Dad a Creative Father's Day Gift He Really Wants :
Finding the perfect Father's Day gift can be a challenge. The ideal gift should
be something personal and meaningful, something Dad will actually use. This
Father's Day, instead of adding to Dad's unused cologne collection, why not
give a gift ensemble -- a collection of items based on a theme.
Similar
to a Father's Day gift basket, gift ensembles are greater than the sum of their
parts. Ensembles make even a few inexpensive items seem like a big deal. With
a bit of creativity, you can come up with a collection of gifts perfect for
the special Dads on your list. Just follow these simple steps to put together
a great gift for Father's Day or any other gift-giving occasion.

Choose
a Theme :
Make a list of things Dad enjoys. Think of broad categories, not specific items
at this point. Consider hobbies, favorite types of books and particular topics
of interest. Is he an outdoorsman? Hunter? Hiker? Biker? Is he a football fan
or an athlete? This list should provide you with a few good ideas for your theme.
Establish
a Budget :
A great gift doesn't have to cost a lot of money, but there are ways to extend
your budget. Try joining forces with your siblings. Tell them you have a great
Father's Day gift idea, and make it a group effort. You can either combine budgets
or individually purchase items that fit the theme. Gift buying often falls on
Mom, especially when the kids are young. A gift ensemble can help make Father's
Day a family project: The kids can help select the theme, and everyone can choose
an item they want to include. Each individual gift should be marked with a gift
tag so everyone is recognized and nobody feels left out.

Putting
it All Together : Every
Father's Day gift ensemble should include a base, something to keep and something
to eat. Virtually anything can serve as the base of a gift ensemble. The base
should be a useful part of gift, and may be used to hold other items. For example,
a backpack or fishing tackle box would make a great base for an outdoors theme.
If none of the items works as a base, don't worry. Simply wrap a large box with
gift wrap that compliments your theme. If you choose to wrap the individual
items as well, use the same paper. If younger kids are involved, have them decorate
the box to match the theme using paint or crayons.
There
is generally one item that serves as the centerpiece of the gift ensemble. It
is usually the most expensive component, an item meant to last. If what Dad
really wants is out of your budget, or if he is just too picky, consider a gift
certificate that ties in with your theme. For a Father's Day golf ensemble,
you could include a gift certificate from a local pro shop.

Include
something to eat that can be enjoyed right away. Again, consider your theme
for food ideas, or simply include Dad's favorite snack or one that he does not
get every day. Consider pistachios, cashews, imported beer, coffee or a pile
of individual servings of salty snacks.
Give
Dad the World : Here
is an example of a great ensemble gift based on a unique wall mural. The manufacturer,
Environmental Graphics, produces high-quality images that apply to the wall
just like wallpaper. Whether Dad has roamed the world or is an armchair traveler,
this gift ensemble will awaken his inner adventurer.
Gift
wrap a large box in a foreign-language newspaper as the base.

A
map of the world wall mural allows Dad to experience the world (and your gift)
every day. This detailed map of the world is nearly 9 feet by 13 feet.
Pick
a country or culture that Dad enjoys and include a travel or photography book
on that nation or culture. Include a CD of popular music from the same region.
The world keeps changing and so do maps. Purchase Dad an up-to-date world atlas.

Great Gift Ideas
for Father's Day
What
do you get for the man who has always been there for you? You want it to be
something special, something he hasn't gotten before, something that he will
cherish. It cannot be the tired old gift of after shave lotion or soap on a
rope. Not this year!
To
start your idea list, think about the things you used to do or still do together.
Think about the "firsts" he added to your life; the first baseball
game, the first boat ride, how he helped you get your balance on your first
bike, how he showed you it was fun to play the piano, your first hunting or
fishing trip. Make a list of the things he does now or things you've heard him
talk about doing but has never done. Somewhere in this list is the perfect gift
for the man who has been your Father all these years.

1.
For the sailing dad, get him a hand carved scaled model of the winning sailing
boat of the America's cup to proudly display in his office or den.
2.
If he still has his grandfather's pocket watch, get him a leather covered case
to display it.
3.
If your retired Dad spends a lot of his time traveling in his RV, get him a
pair of moccasins made from moose hide. They are comfortable and have extra
grip soles for his safety.

4.
If he collects small model cars or trains, get a display cabinet that will hold
and show off his treasures.
5.
If he rides the subway, get him cufflinks with the subway token in display.
6.
For the man who showed you how to wish on the moon, give him an acre of Lunar
Real Estate. He will get a certificate in the mail.
7.
If he showed you the constellations, get him a telescope so he can easily gaze
at the stars.

8.
If his hands are always busy working on the computer keyboard, give him a squeezable
ball to help relieve tension and work different muscles. They come in all sizes
now from the baseball to huge ones that will work his shoulder muscles.
9.
Did your Dad use to take you quail hunting? Give him a gourmet meal of roasted
quail. They come vacuum sealed with all the juices.
10.
You can also find a silver plated mouse for his computer and have his initials
engraved on it.
