Deepavali, or Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, comes close on the heels of Dussehra. It is the national festival of India, which marks the victory of good over evil. Deepavali means "row of lights". In this occasion, all houses, temples, structures are decorated with rows of colorful lights and lamps, and it brings along with it glowing happiness and the touch of sparklers, crackers and other spectacular fireworks all around. Foods and sweets are distributed by all, to all. It is celebrated all over the world, and by the members of all communities and religion.
